The project was developed by SpaceX and Jared Isaacman, the 38-year-old founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments, a millionaire entrepreneur. Isaacman paid an unknown sum to SpaceX for the multiday trip to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Since SpaceX announced the launch in February, Isaacman and the Inspiration4 crew have been working with them to train. On Tuesday, the crew met with business leadership, including Musk, who "assured us again that the whole leadership team is entirely focused on this mission," according to him.
