Andy Balloons Participation in Singapore's 56th National Day Parade 2021

The National Day Parade (NDP) is an annual parade held in the city-state in Singapore. It is the central public celebration of National Day, a day that all Singaporeans would always remember in their hearts. It was initially celebrated on August 9, 1966, to commemorate the first anniversary of Singapore's separation from the Federation of Malaya and becoming an independent country of its own. The parade is usually held at a public open space, either The Padang or The Float at Marina Bay. This year's parade took place at The Float at Marina Bay.

There were many kinds of performances during the celebration, with many audiences attending to witness the most glorious celebration of the year that most Singaporeans look forward to every year. Many people, including adults, parents, kids, workers, sellers, drivers, gathered around The Float at Marina Bay to have a good view of what is about to be a spectacular sight for the eyes and a proud moment to the hearts of many Singaporeans.

The show's virtual dance routines, video snippets, and animated films tugged at the heartstrings, even if the actual performances on the floating platform in Marina Bay were scaled down due to pandemic regulations and for the safety of the citizens. Colorful fireworks lit up the sky, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong waved to the crowd, the Red Lions dazzled the viewers with free-fall jumps in their signature red-and-white parachutes. One of the jets circled Marina Bay Sands before performing a vertical climb to symbolize progress and prosperity for the nation. There's also the firing of a 21-gun salute, performances from singers, athletes, and entertainers to celebrate the day.

Even though this year is under the impact of the pandemic, Singaporeans will never miss the National Day Parade. It was postponed to a later day on August 21. The minister made a statement that "This national event brings together Singaporeans from all walks of life, as one united people to affirm our unity and nationhood. The changes this year will enable NDP 2021 to be held in safer conditions, while maintaining that cherished tradition."
